About me

I’m a technology journalist, a Financial Post columnist, and a tech commentator on CTV News. I was formerly the Managing Editor at BetaKit, a publication reporting on emerging technology and innovation around the world. BetaKit was an initiative of Sprouter, where I formerly held a communications role since 2008.

I’m passionate about web startups and new technologies, and was named to Marketing Magazine’s list of 30 Under 30 journalists, PR pros and marketers in August 2012. I am a journalism graduate and have written for publications including The Globe and Mail, Mashable, Business Insider, and VentureBeat. I comment frequently in the press about entrepreneurship, and have appeared in publications including The New York Times, Forbes, CNN, and Canadian Business.

I also do quite a bit of guest speaking, and have led sessions on the future of journalism and digital media at conferences across Canada.

In terms of personal interests, I love reading and am in two book clubs, and I also sing and play the guitar. Traveling is my biggest passion, and in the past few years I’ve traveled to India, Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, and several countries in Europe.
